The Export Modifications add-on enables you to change the style of exported Excel files and add additional information to export CSV and Excel files, such as the dashboard information. The add-on also enables exporting to Excel for table and table with aggregation widgets.
Note: Export modifications are set from the Configuration Manager and apply to all users for all exports. A user cannot modify a specific Excel or CSV export.
Excel Modifications
Apply the following changes to Excel files:
- Include dashboard information, such as dashboard date and last data update date
- Cell content alignment
- Include dashboard and widget filters
- Insert an image – can be used to brand the Excel
- Modify ‘rows’ columns to contain unmerged cells
- Move the ‘grand total’ row to the top of the table
- Make the ‘grand total’ row, ‘grand total’ columns
- Make measures headers bold
CSV Modifications
Apply the following changes to CSV files:
- Add filters below the widget data to CSV files

Installation
The Export Modification add-on contains two components:
- Windows service Sisense.ExportModifications
- Client-Side plugin: exportModifications
To install the Export Modifications add-on:
- Download the Export Modifications add-on.
- Extract the .zip file.
- Save the /Plugin/exportModifications folder in the plugins folder: C:Program FilesSisenseappplugins.If the folder does not exist, create it.
- Run the /Service/PSE.Sisense.ExportModifications.msi file.
- Restart Sisense services:
- Open the Configuration Manager from your browser at http://localhost:3030.
- Click the Sisense logo five times to display the full list of service configurations on the left.
- Click Restart Services.
- Configure the Export Modifications add-on, as described below.
- Refresh your dashboard.
Configure the Export Modifications
- Open the Configuration Manager from your browser at http://localhost:3030.
- Click the Sisense logo five times to display the full list of service configurations on the left.
- Click the Export Modification tab.

Configuration options:
- Alignment – Excel cell alignment.
- alignmentNumber left/right/center. Alignment of number values.
- alignmentText left/right/center. Alignment of text values.

- configuredFilterTitle text. Specify the title of a dashboard filter to be presented on the first Excel tab.
- enabledFilterSheet on/off. Includes an additional tab with the widget and dashboard filters.
- enabledReportName on/off. When toggled on, an additional row with the widget name and the configuredFilterTitle is added to the first tab above the table.
- grandTotalTop on/off. When toggled on, the grand total row is presented at the top of the table.
- make font bold on/off. When toggled on, the column headers are bold.
- minExcelColumnWidth number. Set the minimum width of Excel columns.
- showFiltersOnCSV on/off. When toggled on, the dashboard and widget filters are included in the CSV file.
- InsertImage – Can be used to brand the Excel and add a logo.
- enabled on/off. When toggled on, the configured image is added to Excel.
- imageHeight number
- imagePath text
- imageWidth number
- NewTextLines – Additional information
- dateFormat text. The format of the data date and the export date in the filters tab.
- explanatoryText text. The text is added to all Excel files on the Filters tab.
- newRowCharacter text. Character to split the explanatory text by.
Note:
Table widget (large Excel export):
Officially supported limit: up to 100,000 rows per export, provided the environment has enough resources (CPU, memory on external-plugins, and network/gateway timeouts for status polling and download).
Exports above this limit, or on undersized clusters, may fail with timeouts or resource errors. Higher row counts may work in practice when resources are ample, but are not guaranteed.
